During your visit, you should definitely set aside at least one full day for a sightseeing tour at Klagenfurt. That will give you plenty of time to see the many attractions that make Klagenfurt and the surrounding area so very special.

Visit the Eiffel Tower, look an anaconda in the eye, go on a boat trip or take a trip to the stars.

In Klagenfurt and its surrounding area, big and small explorers will discover great excursion destinations brimming with interesting information, making sure you have a fascinating and fun day out. At Minimundus – the miniature world on Lake Wörthersee, you can marvel at 156 miniature models of famous buildings from around the world. On board one of the Wörthersee Schifffahrt boats you can explore one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria, Lake Wörthersee, and enjoy culinary delights at the same time. At Klagenfurt Planetarium, the stars are within reach, and with the museum tramway you can experience history at full speed. At Mageregg wildlife park you can stroll between red and fallow deer on ten hectares, and on the Maria Loretto peninsula you can stop for a drink at Loretto Castle, built in the 17th century.

The steeple of Klagenfurt’s parish church features a viewing platform located 50 m above the ground, treating visitors to beautiful views of historical downtown Klagenfurt as well as a marvelous panorama spanning the Wörthersee, Karawanken, Koralpe and more. A climb up the 225 steps of the steeple is definitely worth the effort. An exhibition is open to visitors about the history of the church tower and the way the watchmen lived in former times high up the tower in the old watchman‘s apartment quarters. The utensils they used are also on display. Inside St. Aegidius’ parish church, you can also visit the Fuchs Chapel.
