United World Games

The United World Games are Europe‘s largest Youth Sports Festival and held under the patronage of UNESCO. More than 7,000 athletes from over 35 countries and all continents annually battle for silverware in ten disciplines (soccer, basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, rugby, swimming, athletics, orienteering and field hockey) in the Austrian town of Klagenfurt.

The Games take place at 25 different venues in Klagenfurt and the regional transport authority has installed special shuttle busses during the event. The Opening ceremonies, side events as well as the soccer finals are held at the 30,000 all-seater EURO Stadium.

Apart from the fun of the sporting competition, the Games shall also aid the understanding among the different nationalities, encouraged by side events like the Opening Ceremony, Players Party and Gala Evening etc.
