Klaus Littmann

Klaus Littmann grew up in Basel. After his studies at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, he worked as an international freelance mediator of contemporary art under the guidance of Professor Joseph Beuys. At first Klaus Littmann made a name for himself as an initiator and organizer of solo and group exhibitions. Subsequently, he concentrated on the planning and realization of themed art exhibitions and artistic interventions in public spaces. The focus of these elaborate and spectacular projects was both on everyday culture and the confrontation of contemporary art with historically grown urban spaces.

Basel Cultural Prize
In 2002 Klaus Littmann was honored with the Culture Prize of the City of Basel. The 80 art projects realized in Switzerland and abroad are illustrated in catalogue and book form.
