Lojze Wieser is the true European among Carinthia’s cultural figures: Through his publishing house, Wieser-Verlag, this Carinthian Slovenian has brought Eastern European literature to the forefront for decades. In the multi-award-winning book and television documentary series “Taste of Europe,” he has demonstrated that cuisine and cultural identity are inextricably linked. For Wieser, food is never merely sustenance, but rather memory, history, and language. At the Alpen-Adria Food Lab, he collaborates with chef Patrick Feichter to practice “archaeology of taste”: exploring historical recipes, forgotten ingredients, and surprising connections between the cuisines and cultures of the Alps-Adriatic region.

Publishing director Erika Hornbogner invites you to the third edition of her culinary-literary tête-à-tête: Author and gastrosoph Lojze Wieser will read from his new book *Geschmackshochzeit IV*, published by Tourismus Klagenfurt. To accompany the event, chefs Christian Cabalier (Kochwerkstatt) and Werner Schleich-Wolf (Schloss Loretto & Feine Küche Kulterer) have created six typical Alpine-Adriatic bites to be enjoyed in the evening, including drinks.
