Christian Cabalier is one of Carinthia’s best-known award-winning chefs and is known for his creative Alpine-Adriatic cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. In his culinary workshop at the Benediktinermarkt, he prepares fresh ingredients from the market stalls every day—blending Carinthian specialties with international influences. At the Osteria Veneta on Kardinalplatz, he focuses on Venetian cuisine: homemade pasta, fresh fish, and wines from Italy. Before returning in 2013, he ran “Bistro Apetit,” which was named the best restaurant in Croatia. Gault&Millau has listed the Kochwerkstatt for years.
