Gottfried Bachler

Gottfried Bachler did not earn his three toques and the title of Slow Food Chairperson for Carinthia as mere accolades, but as a logical consequence of his convictions. With Bachler’s in Althofen, he has shaped Carinthia’s culinary culture and made Carinthia a flagship region of the Slow Food movement’s “good, clean, fair” philosophy. The focus is on authentic food, short supply chains, and close collaboration with regional producers. Through cooking classes and culinary seminars, he shares his knowledge—and demonstrates why quality doesn’t begin at the stove, but with the people who produce good ingredients.
